In yet another sign that he is eying a 2012 run for the Republican nomination for President, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum will visit South Carolina in the coming months.
Santorum a conservative Republican defeated for a third term in 2006 by Senator Bob Casey is considered a long shot for the Republican nomination.
Santorum has had national ambitions for years. He really wanted to be Bush's running mate in 2000 but was passed over in favor of Cheney. He'll be passed over again in 2012.
