The President committed 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan last night during his prime time speech with a with drawl target date of July 2011. The President really did not really change public opinion on what has been an unpopular war.
Last night was not one of Obama's finest moments. The speech should have been made from the Oval Office and it was a weak speech. I would rather have heard the President indicate that he would withdraw troops immediately. This is not the progressive I voted for in November 2008.
