Barack Obama Never Wanted To Pass A Public Option

Jarrett Terrill said...: In the primary election, I voted for Hillary (not that it even counted in Florida) for two reasons:

1) Hillary wanted REAL Universal Healthcare. Obamacare was a compromise from the very beginning.

2) Hillary was much clearer about her pro-equality agenda. She wanted to get rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell and she wanted to enact legislation that favored Civil Unions. Obama is leaving civil rights up in the air, just like Reagan. He only supported the Mathew Shepard Act once he was SURE that the Senate was going to pass the legislation anyway (and after Lady GaGa screamed at him).

I don't regret voting for Obama in the general election (the other option considered) but he's no Hillary...; December 31, 2009 12:29 AM
