Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska announced tonight that he will vote to bring the health care reform bill to the Senate floor for a vote on Saturday evening. Good for you Sen. Nelson, your doing the right thing! With Nelson on board, attention is turning to four other Senator's as this critical vote approaches.
Sen. Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas who is up for re-election in 2010. She has told Reid how she will vote but has not made her intentions public. Her vote will be critical to her 2010 re-election campaign.
Sen. Mary Landrieu
Sen. Joe Lieberman-I think Lieberman will vote to bring the bill to the floor but will vote against it when it comes before the full Senate.
Sen. Olympia Snowe-She was the only Republican to vote the bill out of the Senate finance committee, shes opposed to the public option but I think she will vote to bring the bill to the floor.
...........................................................................
Democratic donors should keep a close eye on Lincoln. Lincoln's GOP opponent is an unknown and hes polling in the high 30's. Lincoln will be calling donors for $$$$ soon, very soon, if she votes against this bill and blocks health care reform from being enacted, I say hang up on her when she calls. Landrieu is a conservative DEM, I have no use for her either way. Same with Liarman. Snowe has balls, I have been very impressed with her and I am hopeful that she will stand up to the GOP tomorrow night and vote for this bill and vote for the bill when it comes to the full Senate.
