Gillibrand faces tough fight in NY

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is in for a political fight in 2010. First news reports have surfaced that Rudy Giuliani is planning to take on the New York Senator in 2010 as she runs for a full term in the Senate. Now reports are that just 25% of New Yorker's think Gillibrand is doing either an excellent or good job in office, and 12% believe she is performing poorly. Gillibrand's bigger concern should be that 24% of New York doesn't know how to rate her because they don't know her.

Gillibrand is very well known upstate but she is going to have to start getting known in the boroughs. She should be making trips to Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island and even Brooklyn especially if she is facing Giuliani. She is going to have to raise huge amounts of money and travel the city.

Giuliani is going to be the toughest political fight of her career and if she can pull it off, I think she could be a national candidate in 2016. It will be very interesting.
