Coakley leads in Massachusetts primary

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is the clear favorite in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts with only 16 days until the primary election. Nearly three quarters of likely voters have not decided who they will support.

Coakley leads with 43%, Congressman Mike Capuano has 22%, Steve Pagliuca has 15%, and Alan Khazei has 6%. The winner of the Democratic primary likely will take Ted Kennedy's seat in the Senate.

Coakley will most likely win the primary and will be a great Senator for Massachusetts. I hope she will rely on Senator Kerry and Congressman Frank for guidance as she settles into the DC transition.
