Franken to take seat on Monday; cites Clinton and Bradley styles

Finally I can say it, UNITED STATES SENATOR AL FRANKEN, will be sworn into the Senate on Monday. After months of legal rancour, Norm Coleman has dropped his lawsuits and challenges and is being mentioned as a candidate for Governor of Minnesota in 2010, a topic for another day.

Al Franken heads to the Senate saying he would like to pare ll the style of former Senator's Hillary Clinton and Bill Bradley.

"Both came to the Senate with some celebrity and some skepticism from people on the Hill," Senator Franken said. "They both put their heads down and did the work and won over their colleagues by not running to the camera."

Franken is right. I was not a Hillary fan in the presidential primary but Hillary was a great and serious Senator for New York. She took on the issues and worked across the aisle to get things done for New York and America. Bill Bradley was a passionate progressive who I think would have a made a great President. Both were great Senator's and assets to the party and their respective states the same way Franken will be.
