Corzine raises money

New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine who spent $60 million of his own money on a Senate race in 2000 then poured $43 million into the 2005 Governor's race is now trying to raise money.

The New York Times reports, "After a costly divorce and a steep decline in his net worth, Mr. Corzine, the onetime chief executive of Goldman Sachs, is in the unfamiliar position of seeking donations to foot the bill for his campaign".

This time Corzine "is trying to raise upwards of $15 million from donors, according to people involved, which he hopes to match with no more then $25 million of his own."

Okay, I am a loyal Democrat and I have always supported Corzine but I am also pragmatic and I have been following this race. If I were Corzine I would throw that $25 million into the stock market while stocks are cheap and wait it out. Christie unless something dramatic happens will be the next Governor of New Jersey. The handwriting is on the wall. Corzine blew it with the Lt. Gov pick. He should of went with Corey Booker the Newark Mayor and he should of started raising money sooner. The Toll Hike plan and the sales tax increase are among Corzine's problems.
